Alawala Pothgul Len Rajamaha Viharaya

Alawala Pothgul Len Rajamaha Viharaya at Gampaha is believed to be from the Anuradapura up to the Kandyan Era.
The three caves Vihara Lena, Potgul Lena and Thapo Lena, is spread across 60 acres of land. The large reclining Buddha is found in the impressive Vihara Lena. Belonging to the Kandyan Era. of the two seated statues, one belonging to the Anuradhapura era and the other to the Kandyan Era The murals are impressive. These were restored about 150 years ago. The second cave, Pothgul Lena, lies on a mountain slope near the temple. Human remains believed to be from 13,000 BCE, Has been discovered in this cave
